I am a storey of stories,
Stacked and suspended.
A new page in the glass story
Bejewelled with a colourful facade.

Inspired from India minarets and old monumental architecture
A tower that is a home within a home,
A container of small joys, objects, and memories.
Open-ended, personal, and adaptable — to write little stories by placing within.

Drawing emotion from a nostalgia of the past, the memories of living in old family homes.
An enclosed cabinet at the bottom, stitched in glass held by brass pins -
A tower built for personal choices and pivot windows to reveal hidden moments.

In materiality, the idea was to treat glass as jewellery, accentuate its character with wood and brass. In feeling, this tower was inspired from Indian homes. Our homes are often containers of so many sorrows, joys, moments, precious memories people have. Just like these homes, the tower has a very personal connotation - how can one populate it with things in a very personalized manner.
The offset stone shelves at the top are symbolic to the floating shelves we often see in our childhood homes. We Indians, often call a carpenter and add shelves as an after thought, something not quite in place yet most truly our own, most custom to our needs. This tower invokes the user into thinking what they could keep, what are those little precious things for us that we wish to hold in glory - even when we are outside, we feel engulfed into it through the windows, allowing for a glimpse of the story.

I am a timekeeper of memories
Built of levitating stone shelves
And brass-anchored window
I am minaret that speaks of fragility
In my glass and in the things I hold.

Every shelf’s scale hints at what it could hold, inviting you in to imagine,
To engage and populate, with things, moments, memories and more.
