This was a bespoke desk designed for a client who works as a college counsellor, she is a very organized person so it has many layers of functionality built in. The idea was to imagine a highly functional desk in a very different palette of materials - we introduced stone and glass to extend the materiality experience.
Stone has a very cooling character to it, to touch and feel it soothes our senses. These materials are often not accessible in an everyday scenario, so introducing them in a functional desk allows for that unwinding experience. It is a two-sided desk, with the backside for a high stool, allowing for kids to play or draw alongside.
