A performance of flavor and form.
I came as ordinary — a usual shaver,
To sculpt & mould, something like clay,
To shift the structure & curve the lines,
Till I became the signature I am today.

A sculpted shaver, sitting atop Papa’s marquetry counter
12 seats, exclusive and pre-booked - a ritual, an experience.
Reshaped through casting & welding, brought to life in bronze

The ice-shaver is a machine-next-door that almost every Indian has experienced in their childhood. It has a lot of summer nostalgia attached to it. When this brief came to us, we had to keep the machine fully functional, and yet give it a completely new and contemporary form.
My approach was based in sculpting. We played with metal like one would play with clay. And we achieved this form that is sleek, curvilinear and represents the spirit of the place. We stabilized it enough for use every night, and till date - the performance of serving an ice dish for dessert, is a standard ritual at Papa’s.
